Haiku Shuukan #14, Nocturnal

Dear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

Another week has gone. here in The Netherlands it feels like we are in the tropics, because it's tropical warm/hot around 30 derees Celsius and we are enjoying it, notwithstanding the heat that's very moist and it certainly will bring thunderstorms and rain later today. I am looking forwars to the upcoming evening and night when the heat will be gone.

This week's prompt is Nocturnal or nighttime ... this needs no further explanation I think so let's do some hakui-ing.

after this hot day
finally the cool of the night -
dreaming of love

  1. I would enjoy 30c degrees. We've had 33c and higher here. Once we do get rain, it is only a brief relief.
Mid 90's F in our area I found a program to convert the temps:
    http://www.metric-conversions.org/temperature/fahrenheit-to-celsius.htm - does it both ways. :)

  2. Superb haiku Kristjaan. Really. Hope tanka are also allowed here but understand if you prefer to keep it for haiku.

  3. Jules and I live in the same state here in the US -- can totally sympathize with your plight -- that humid, muggy heat that really saps the strength out of a person -- and then such wild storms at night. Makes for interesting haiku subject material (!) but it makes a person weary after a while!

Loved the haiku here -- the contrast in the cool evening / love in the first, the "hot times" and "red lights" in the second.
